Microsoft Dynamics GP Power BI Content Pack

Microsoft Dynamics GP Power BI Content Pack

Microsoft Power BI is a collection of software services, apps, and connectors that work together to turn your unrelated sources of data into coherent, visually immersive, and interactive insights. Whether your data is simple such as an Excel spreadsheet, or a collection of cloud-based or on-premises hybrid data warehouses, Power BI lets you easily connect to your data sources, visualize (or discover) what’s important, and share that with anyone or everyone you want.

The Power BI Desktop application is a tool that offers a contemporary method for generating reports using Microsoft Dynamics GP data. Reports can be displayed on your GP homepage, allowing you to see the most up-to-date information whenever you refresh.

With the release for Dynamics GP 2018, Microsoft introduced Power BI Dynamics GP content pack which includes pre-built reports for Financial, Purchasing, Sale and Inventory  data.

The content pack helps with the relationship between your Dynamics GP data, and includes filters you can use to display the data you want. Additionally, it includes Calculated Columns to use as examples to build your own; such as, net debit/credit, profit and item sales amounts. While the content pack contains sample reports meant to demonstrate the capabilities of Power BI, it is a great reference for designing your own Power BI reports for Dynamics GP.
